In the past, I have posted about attracting American goldfinches to your garden, and this post is to show how they especially enjoy the zinnia seeds during the vibrant summer months. Every year, I plant lots of zinnias, nurturing them carefully to ensure a stunning display of color that not only brightens my garden but also provides sustenance for these delightful birds. I take great care in collecting the seeds from my favorite color flowers, which I then use for planting in the next year to ensure a plentiful harvest. I need to do this first, otherwise, they come and eat all the seeds before I have a chance to save any. It is incredibly rewarding to watch them flutter about, their bright yellow feathers contrasting beautifully against the greens and reds of the flowers, as they cheerfully feast on the seeds. Here is the video of how they enjoy this delightful treat, showcasing their playful nature and the joy they bring to my garden.
