House wrens are commonly seen in Minnesota. This is the story of a house wren building its cozy home in our backyard, filling the space with life and joy. The wren’s nest adds a touch of nature’s magic, reminding us of life’s beauty and the joy found in nature. Each chirp and flutter brings hope and possibility for the future. I love the beautiful sound it makes, brightening any day. Last time, the house wren built a nest in one of our birdhouses, and I enjoyed it but couldn’t capture all the activity, so I wanted to record it this time . It was fun to watch it gather twigs one by one, carefully selecting each piece; sometimes it struggled, but it never gave up, and at times it perched on the birdhouse, singing while the babies peeked out, waiting for food. Witnessing their first attempts to fly, with their tiny wings flapping and soft chirps filling the garden was unforgettable. I cherished those moments filled with wonder and look forward to this year, hoping for another season of these lively birds and the joy they bring. I added the video so you can enjoy watching them too.

The pictures below were taken after the young ones left their nest after half an hour, excited to explore the beauty of the world around them.
