This is a very delicious side dish for appam, you can use this side dish for idly or dosa too. One of my daughter’s favorite. Please try it, you will definitely like it!
Ingredients
- Shallots ———————————– 1lb (diced)
- Tomato ———————————— 3 (diced)
- Salt to taste
- For Grinding
- Grated coconut ———————– 1/4 cup
- Cumin seeds—————————- 1/2 tsp
- Green chilies ————————— 2
- Garlic cloves —————————- 4
- Cashews ———————————- 6
- Kasa kasa (poppy seeds) ——- 1 tsp
- For Tempering
- Cooking Oil —————————– 1 tbsp
- Fennel seeds ————————— 1/2 tsp
- Cinnamon——————————– 1 piece
- Bay leaf ———————————— 2
- Clove —————————————- 2
- Curry leaves —————————- 2 springs

How to make
- Heat the oil in a pan in medium heat
- Add bay leaves, cloves, fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks and curry leaves
- Now add the diced shallots and cook until shallots become tender
- Add the diced tomatoes, salt, chili powder,turmeric powder and coriander powder
- Cook until the tomatoes become soft
- Then add 1 1/2 cups of water and bring it to boil
- Grind the things under “For Grinding” to make a fine paste
- Now add the coconut paste and continue to cook for 5 more minutes
- Then switch off the stove
- Now the tasty tomato korma is ready to serve
