Effective Homemade Yellow Jacket Trap Recipe

Have you been thinking about how to control yellow jackets and bald-faced hornets? I think every gardener goes through this problem, and if you have lots of flowers, then you will be facing lots of wasps and other tiny insects in your garden. Yellow jackets and bald-faced hornets are very annoying in our garden. I use a simple solution to control them. Also, I plant certain flowers and herbs that naturally repel wasps, such as marigolds, mint, and citronella. By implementing these strategies, you can enjoy your garden without the nuisance of wasps and hornets.
Here is the simple homemade recipe. Don’t worry, the bees wouldn’t go inside. I have six of them hanging around in our backyard garden.

Things you need

  • Apple cider vinegar ——– 1/2 cup
  • Water ———————— 1/2 cup
  • Liquid soap few drops
  • Empty juice bottle (make a small hole on each side on the top portion)

How to make the solution

Add all the ingredients in the bottle and mix it well, then hang it on a tree branch. That’s all; the insects will go through the holes and fall into the mix. I change the solution once in a while (maybe every 2 to 3 weeks).

I use a smaller version of this for gnats and fruit flies. I didn’t know it worked for wasps and yellow jacks. Thanks!
