A tasty okra dish. Some people don’t like okra, including one of my daughters; she particularly doesn’t like the slimy texture. My other daughter likes okra and she will eat any okra dish. We always grow okra in our vegetable garden. This is tasty, healthy and non-slimy recipe, you should definitely try it!

Ingredients
- Okra ———————————— 1 lb (cut it into stripes)
- Big onion ————————— 1 (cut it into length wise)
- Besan flour ———————— 2 tbsp
- Grated coconut —————— 1/4 cup
- Chili powder ———————- 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder ————— 1/4 tsp
- For Tempering
- Cooking oil ——————– 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds —————– 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds ————– 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves —————– 1 spring
How To Make
- Place a heavy bottom pan on medium heat and dry roast the besan flour for a minute
- Then take the roasted flour and keep it separately
- Now in the same pan heat the oil and add mustard seeds
- Wait until it crackles, then add the cumin seeds and curry leaves
- Now add the onions and stir fry for about 6 minutes
- Then add the okra and stir fry for about 10 minutes. In between add the chili powder, turmeric powder and salt
- Now add the roasted flour and stir until okras are coated with the flour (This helps removing the sliminess)
- Then add the grated coconut and mix it well
- Continue to cook for couple more minutes and switch off the stove
- Now the tasty okra fry is ready to serve
