This is one of the tasty fritters from south Indian cuisine, usually an evening snack. Having this with a cup of tea, makes a perfect combination. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients
- Banana flower ————- 1 (finely chopped)
- Channa dal ——————- 1 1/2 cup
- Dry red chilies ————– 4
- Ginger ————————— 2″ size (grated)
- Red onion ——————— 1/2 (chopped)
- Green chilies —————- 2 (finely chopped)
- Fennel seeds —————- 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves —————— 4 springs (finely chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Enough oil to fry

How To Make
- Soak the channa dal and dry chilies for about four hours
- From the soaked channa dal, take a handful of it and keep it aside
- Now grind the remaining channa dal coarsely (no need to add water while grinding)
- In a wide bowl mix all the ingredients except the oil
- Make little thick patties from the mix
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the patties
- Turn the patties to cook both sides evenly (totally it will take five to six minutes fry)
- Take them out and keep it in a tissue towel, so that the excess oil will be drained
- Now enjoy the banana flower vadai
