    • Cumin seeds ——————– 1/2 tsp
    • Garlic pods ———————– 4
  • For Tempering
    • Cooking oil ———————– 2 tsp
    • Mustard seeds —————– 1/2 tsp
    • Urad dal —————————- 1/2 tsp
    • Cumin seeds ——————– 1/2 tsp
    • Curry leaf ————————– 1 spring

How to make

  • Place a pan on medium heat stove
  • Add oil and mustard seeds
  • Once it crackles, add the urad dal, curry leaf and the sliced shallots
  • Add the yam pieces, spice powders and 1/2 cup of water
  • Cook it until the yam pieces are well cooked (around 15 minutes)
  • In the meantime, make the coconut paste
  • Grind all things in the grinding list into a coarse mixture using a mixer/blender
  • Add this coconut mixture in the pan
  • Cook for 3 more minutes and switch off the stove
  • Now it should be ready to eat
  • Serve it with rice
