Spinach Poriyal

Making this spinach poriyal is so easy, we can do it in 10 minutes. Let see the making of it.

  • Ingredients
    • Spinach 200 g (8 oz ), cut it into small pieces
    • Chili powder 1/2 tsp
    • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
    • Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
    • 1/4 cup grated coconut
    • Salt to taste
  • For Tempering
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1 tbsp split urad dal
    • 2 dry chilies

How to make

  • Take a Kadai and heat it in medium heat
  • Add oil and when it becomes hot, add the mustard, cumin, urad dal and dry chilies
  • After the mustard seeds crackles, add the cut spinach and keep the stove in high heat.
  • Saute for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Add salt, chili powder and turmeric powder
  • Mix them well with spinach and add the grated coconut
  • Cook it for 2 more minutes and switch off the stove
  • Spinach poriyal is ready to serve
  • Enjoy with rice!
