Barley Waffle

Earlier I posted about the ragi waffle, which is working great for us and we like it a lot. Then I wanted to try with other flours, we mostly have the barley flour in our pantry and I often make barley puttu. This time I tried with the barley flour to make the waffle like savory ragi waffle and it turned out very well. Hence, here is the recipe.

  • Barley flour ————- 1/2 cup
  • Warm water ————- 1 cup + 3 tbsp
  • Grated coconut ——- 3 tbsp
  • Minced onion ———– 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies ———— 2 (finely chopped)
  • Curry leaves ————– 2 springs (finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste
How to make
  • In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and mix them all together
  • Spray the preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray
  • Pour the mix on the hot waffle iron
  • Cook until the beeps come from the waffle iron
  • Serve when it is hot, with coconut chutney
